The Northern Great Plain is the farthest region on the Spain-Hungary corridor, with Debrecen roughly 1,970 km from our Barcelona hub and LTL groupage on two weekly departures with transit by delivery zone. It is also the region where the biggest industrial investment sits next to the biggest gap in the road network.

Debrecen is well served. The M35 reaches the city and forms both the northern and southern boundary of its 620-hectare North-Western Economic Zone, which comprises a 400-hectare BMW Group investment area and a 100-hectare supplier park bounded by main road 33 to the west, with ZF, the Schedl Group and EVE Power among the named supplier-park occupants; the M35/354 interchange rebuild started in February 2021. The separate Southern Economic Zone is a 710-hectare greenfield site adjoining Debrecen International Airport with about 16 km of internal roads, named HIPA Industrial Park of the Year in 2021, whose 14-hectare SME park phase — 16 companies, around HUF 13.2 billion invested, 256 jobs — was inaugurated in May 2025. Nyíregyháza is on the M3, and its industrial park is getting a new grade-separated junction at M3 km 230+488.
The gap is on the M4. There is no continuous motorway across the region: the Kisújszállás-Püspökladány section, 31.44 km, was still recorded as preparation-complete with the building permit held and no construction under way on a project sheet dated May 2026, and the adjoining Püspökladány-Berettyóújfalu section, 29.5 km, has been permitted since 2019 without being built. Either side of that hole the M4 does exist — the Törökszentmiklós-Kisújszállás section, 34.29 km, was in construction with handover scheduled for January 2026, and the Berettyóújfalu-Nagykereki section reached the Romanian border in August 2020. Roughly 61 km in the middle is missing, so east-west traffic across the region still uses main roads for part of the run.
The M3 has its own stopping point: it ends at Vásárosnamény, and the roughly 22.6 km continuation to the Ukrainian border at Beregdaróc is recorded as preparation-complete, not built. The M49 towards the Romanian border at Csenger is genuinely under construction in two lots, the first due September 2026 and the second June 2027.
Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Szolnok, Jászberény, Hajdúszoboszló and Kisvárda cover the region. Debrecen is reached on the M35 and Nyíregyháza on the M3; east-west movement across the region still uses main roads where the M4 is unbuilt.

The route into the Northern Great Plain enters Hungary at Hegyeshalom, runs the M1 to the M0 ring and then the M3 east across Northern Hungary before crossing into Hajdú-Bihar, with the M35 branching from the M3 at Görbeháza to reach Debrecen and the M3 continuing to Nyíregyháza and on to Vásárosnamény. The region's other significant asset is not on the road network at all: Záhony, where the 1435 mm and 1520 mm gauge networks meet, is operated by Záhony-Port of the MÁV Group and handled 4.2 million tonnes in 2023 — 3.1 million wide-gauge and 1.1 million standard-gauge — with 277 employees and EUR 23 million of CEF funding for crane modernisation. It is a gauge-change rail complex rather than a road-freight terminal, and we do not route groupage through it. There is no national public port anywhere in the region — the Danube does not flow through it at any point — and no operating rail-road intermodal container terminal has been identified at Debrecen, so everything we deliver here arrives by road. Hungary's HGV driving ban under Government Decree 190/2008 applies, and with this region at the far end of the corridor a slipped Saturday means a Monday delivery.

Debrecen sits roughly 1,970 km from our Barcelona hub and LTL groupage delivers on two departures a week. Transit depends on the delivery zone, and we give it for the exact postcode you deliver to when you ask for a quote. It is the farthest destination on the Spain-Hungary corridor, reached via the M1, the M0 ring, the M3 east and then the M35.
Yes. The North-Western Economic Zone runs to 620 hectares with the M35 forming its northern and southern boundary, and the Southern Economic Zone is a 710-hectare site next to the airport with about 16 km of internal roads. Both price as standard Debrecen coverage, including the supplier park addresses.
Not yet. The M4 has a gap of roughly 61 km between Kisújszállás and Berettyóújfalu — both sections are permitted but unbuilt, one of them since 2019 — so east-west movement across the region still uses main roads for part of the run. It does not change the transit we quote for the delivery zone, but it is why we plan Szolnok and Jászberény deliveries separately from Debrecen ones.
Prefixes 40 through 54 — the Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg ranges. Any postcode under those prefixes prices as standard Northern Great Plain coverage.
