How France → Spain return-leg freight works
SAVA runs a scheduled Spain→France corridor out of our Castellar del Vallès (Barcelona) hub. On the return leg we offer backhaul LTL groupage capacity from France to Spain — arranged on request and subject to available space on the truck coming back. French collections consolidate and route back through the Castellar del Vallès cross-dock before final delivery in Barcelona, Madrid or Valencia. Both countries are inside the EU, so this is intra-EU CMR transport with no customs formalities — just a CMR consignment note.
What ships from France to Spain
France's Spain-bound freight clusters along the Rhône and northern axes: the Lyon and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes manufacturing and chemicals base, the Lille–Hauts-de-France distribution belt feeding the Benelux gateway, Strasbourg and the Grand Est industrial corridor on the Rhine, and the Marseille–Fos logistics platform on the Mediterranean. With only La Jonquera between them and Catalonia, these regions are the most natural source of return-leg pallets on the corridor.

Frequently asked questions
How long does LTL freight take from France to Spain?
Plan on 2–3 days in transit for groupage. The band is symmetric with our forward Spain→France corridor — road distance is the same in either direction (around 650 km via La Jonquera).
How do I book backhaul capacity from France to Spain?
Send us the pickup point, pallet count and weight via the quote form. Because reverse loads ride the return leg of a scheduled Spain→France departure, capacity is offered on request and confirmed once we have return-leg space — it is not a fixed reverse timetable.
Are there customs formalities for France→Spain freight?
No. France and Spain are both in the EU customs union, so this is intra-EU transport moving on a CMR consignment note only — no import/export clearance, no customs broker.
What is the minimum shipment for LTL groupage?
One pallet or around 500 kg. Below that, parcel carriers are usually cheaper; above a few pallets we consolidate it as part-load groupage on the return leg.
Do you carry temperature-controlled or reefer loads from France?
No. SAVA is ambient road freight only — we do not operate reefer or temperature-controlled equipment on any lane, including return legs.
Have a return load from France?
Send us your pickup point, pallet count and weight — we'll check return-leg space and come back with a price.
