Summer Saturday motorway bans. 1 July–31 August, Saturdays 07:00–20:00, trucks over 7.5 t on listed A-roads (e.g. A1, A2, A3, A8…). Exact roads per the Ferienreiseverordnung.
Exemptions. Combined transport to/from the nearest terminal, perishable foods, livestock and some other categories are exempt.

Confirmed change (Sept 2026). Slovak parliament adopted amendments to the Road Traffic Act on 2 June 2026: from September 2026, the Sunday/holiday ban starts at 06:00 instead of 00:00 (summer Saturday ban at 09:00 instead of 07:00). Slovak residents returning home during the ban period also receive an automatic exemption (no individual permit required).

Most of SAVA's transit countries restrict heavy goods vehicles (generally over 7.5 t) on Sundays and public holidays — including Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia. The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg have no nationwide weekend ban, while Poland, Hungary, Romania and Spain apply seasonal or route-specific restrictions.
