Around it sits an unusually deep supplier base: VDL Groep runs more than 100 operating companies from Eindhoven on EUR 4.1 billion of 2025 revenue, and DAF's Eindhoven site holds the engine factory, the components factory, the press shop and the final assembly line for the XD, XF, XG and XG+.
One number attached to DAF is worth handling carefully. The company built 47,048 trucks in 2025 and holds 13.5% of the European heavy segment, but that is a six-plant group total rather than Eindhoven output — DAF publishes no plant-level figure, and cabs and axles come from Westerlo in Belgium. The province's own port is the other half of the freight picture. The route into North Brabant clears La Jonquera, runs the French and Belgian motorway axis and crosses into the Netherlands on the A16 at Hazeldonk, which lands directly in this province — Breda first, then the A58 and A67 east to Tilburg, Eindhoven and Helmond, about 1,500 km from our Barcelona hub. Two infrastructure facts shape the run. The A67 widening between the Leenderheide interchange and Geldrop is paused: the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management placed seventeen road and waterway projects on hold, so the Eindhoven-Venlo axis stays as it is for now. And at Moerdijk the Logistiek Park's A17 connection was delivered in 2025, with the A16 connection prepared that year and due to be built in 2026.
