When are trucks banned from driving in Slovakia?

Slovakia bans trucks over 7.5 t on Sundays and public holidays from 06:00 to 22:00, and only on motorways and class-I roads rather than nationwide. The start moved from midnight to 06:00 on 1 September 2026, under amendments the Slovak parliament adopted on 2 June 2026. In July and August a Saturday ban of 09:00-19:00 applies on the same roads.

  • •Sundays and public holidays: 06:00-22:00 since 1 September 2026, was 00:00-22:00
  • •Motorways and class-I roads only - not a nationwide ban
  • •Summer Saturdays (Jul-Aug): 09:00-19:00 on the same roads
