Practical Customs Support
Since Brexit, shipping goods between the EU and UK requires careful handling of new customs procedures. Switzerland's non-EU status means additional documentation for every load. SAVA LOGISTIC provides hands-on support for both lanes.
Our team prepares and files Spanish export declarations through a licensed customs broker — EXS, commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, certificates of origin — and coordinates destination import clearance through licensed brokers we've worked with for years in the UK and Switzerland. Import clearance at the destination is performed by the authorized broker, not by SAVA directly.

Frequently asked
Do you clear customs yourselves, or through a broker?
Spanish export declarations are filed by a licensed customs broker we instruct — EXS, commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes and certificates of origin. Import clearance at the destination is carried out by a licensed broker in that country, not by SAVA directly. We coordinate the whole file end-to-end, so you have one point of contact while the authorized broker handles the local entry.
Will customs paperwork hold my shipment up at the border?
With all documents complete and no physical inspection or original customs broker signature required, customs clearance takes us at most 3 to 5 hours. Physical inspections and original signatures (phytosanitary inspection, ATA carnet…) are only carried out at the customs office until 13:00.
What documents do I need to provide?
Usually a commercial invoice, a packing list, and the correct HS commodity codes for your goods. For preferential EU–UK TCA tariff treatment you also need rules-of-origin documentation, such as a supplier's declaration. Regulated goods — foods of animal or plant origin, ADR, CITES — need their specific certificates. We confirm the exact list for your goods before the first load.
Does my UK buyer need their own EORI number?
Yes — the UK importer of record needs a UK EORI. If your buyer doesn't have one yet, our UK broker partners can walk them through registration. On the export side we use our own EU EORI for the Spanish declaration, so nothing waits on our end.
How is shipping to Switzerland different from shipping within the EU?
Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, so every load needs a formal export declaration in Spain and a separate import declaration in Switzerland, plus Swiss VAT handling. A licensed customs broker we instruct files the Spanish export, and we coordinate T1/T2 transit and the Swiss import entry through our licensed Swiss broker partners. We discuss ZAZ and DDP routing options with you before pickup so there are no surprises on duty or VAT.
